Please note that "van/camper-type" 4x4 vehicles such as the Toyota Hi Ace and similar are unsuitable for some of our tours. If you have this type of vehicle, you must contact us before booking.

What you will need.

  • Proof of covid vaccinations and any other covid related requirements.
  • 1949 IDP (for Spain) & 1968 IDP (for France) international driving licenses.
  • European Assistance (breakdown cover) for your vehicle.
  • Holiday, vehicle and medical insurance to include repatriation. Make sure you obtain proof of insurance from your insurance company.
  • Original V5 & MOT Certificate.
  • If your vehicle is owned by your company, you must have written proof from the company that you are permitted to use it on your holiday.
  • European travel kit.
  • Spares for your vehicle. For example: Universal joints, fuel filter, air filter, drive belt, oils for transmission and differentials, and any known item that is known to be a problem with your vehicle model.
  • If on a camping holiday you must have a good quality roof or ground tent, all-season sleeping bag, all-weather clothing, cooking equipment, fridge or cool-box (please consider power consumption, cool boxes can be high consumption, so your vehicle electrics must be able to cope. Contact us for advice.). We can hire tents, please inquire by using the form provided.
  • Even if on a hotel holiday, we often stop in the mountains for lunch, so table and chairs and warm clothing is recomended.

Sat ;7th of by whichever means you wish, Dover / Calais / Tunnel or Brittany Ferries to Caen, evening meet in Limoges, budget travel lodge [not included] i will make a block booking

Sunday;8th visit Oradour – sur – Glane search wikipedia to find out more about this tragic piece of WW2 history, lunch Cahors a Cathare strong hold, evening arrive Foix for our first night camping.

Mon; 9th From Foix we hit the trails along the low Pyrenees and only 30 miles from Andorra at times. Please be aware we are at the beginning of summer, and maybe chilly on an evening be prepared !

Tues; 10th There may still be some snow about on the higher tracks

Wed; 11th Working our south there are Castles galore , and just a few wineries

Thurs; 12th This day is spent working our way through the south facing vineyards

Fri; 13th Day off at our campsite on the Mediterranean

Sat; 14th Back on the trail working in a loop north east,

Sun; 15th It’s a day of mountain ranges and Castles again.

Mon; 16th On the trails all day and then the view of the Carcassonne Castle

Tues; 17th Day off to explore Carcassonne it is quite stunning

Wed; 18th Leave Carcassonne, and travel along the Atlantic coast to our overnight stop,Poitiers, another city that at one time was under the control of Richard the Lion Heart and now has a french theme park! Travel type lodge, [not included]

Thurs; 19th Early start and hit the road to the UK.


Where possible we allow time to visit the major castles, wine caves and Cathare towns, it all depends on how well we roll.

Re travelling out and back those who carried over there tunnel tickets need to go out on the 7th, on the 6AM to 6.30AM crossing  return 6PM approx on the 19th.

Customers going Portsmouth to Caen Friday 6th 22.45 PM overnight into Caen 6.45AM on the 7th return Thurs 19th 16.30PM into Portsmouth 21.15PM on the 19th

Brittany Ferries cost with cabins each way for me are £418.00 it does cutout Paris and is about 6hrs to Limoges on the toll roads, 7.5hrs on the non toll roads, with loo stops and fuel 500 kilometers

Poitiers to Caen on the return 4.5hrs 360 kilometers,
