The coast to coast 4×4 tour is a five-day experience taking you from the west coast to the east coast by way of the splendid Lake District, Westmorland Hills, Yorkshire Date and the North Yorkshire Moors. You will spend two nights in the Lake District and two nights in the Yorkshire Dales, and spend two days driving the lanes of the Lake District and two days driving the lanes of the Yorkshire Dales and the final day in the North Yorkshire Moors.
The lanes in the Lake District are not as challenging as they were a couple of years ago, some of the most challenging lanes like Parkamore have been repaired and are now nothing more than a bumpy drive, but there are still challenges like Breast High Road and Style End. Everywhere in the Lake District, of course, offers magnificent views.
On the third day, you travel by way of the Westmoreland Hills to the Yorkshire Dales where Leyburn will be our base. We spend another two days exploring rolling hills and some very more interesting lanes and, again, experience some marvellous scenery.
On the fifth and final day, we travel from the Yorkshire Dales over to the North Yorkshire Moors, possibly by way of a very interesting lane at Sutton Bank, time permitting. Once in the North Yorkshire Moors, you will experience the largest expanse of heather moorland in England and drive to the highest and lowest points of the moors where you will experience river crossings.
