This GPX route will take you from Pickering on Roman roads to Goathland, the setting of the 1960’s TV series Heartbeat, and on to Grosmont, the home of the Yorkshire Moors Railway, where you may be lucky enough to see a train in full steam. You will negotiate steep and deeply rutted lanes, river crossings and enjoy views over Whitby on the North Yorkshire Coast. You will also drive the famous Rudland Rigg before dropping down into Church Houses and driving onwards to Hutton le Hole, and back to Pickering.
