Drive Your Own 4×4 Experience – 1 vehicle, up to 3 passengers

Your vehicle. Your route. Your experience.

Bring your own 4×4 to Park Lodge and enjoy the opportunity to explore a purpose-built off-road environment at your own pace.

The ARD Academy Drive Your Own 4×4 Experience is designed for owners who want to enjoy their vehicle away from the public highway, discover more of what it can do and tackle off-road terrain in a relaxed, professionally supervised environment.

Unlike a structured training course, there is no prescribed programme to follow. You choose the routes and challenges that suit your experience, confidence and vehicle, allowing you to make the session as relaxed or as adventurous as you wish.

Explore at Your Own Pace

Park Lodge offers a varied selection of terrain and off-road challenges suitable for a wide range of capable 4×4 vehicles.

You can choose where you want to drive and spend your time exploring the sections that interest you most. Whether you’re relatively new to off-road driving or already have experience and simply want somewhere suitable to enjoy your vehicle, the session gives you the freedom to make the experience your own.

There is no pressure to tackle anything you are uncomfortable with, and you remain in control of which routes and obstacles you choose to attempt.

ARD Academy Instructors on Hand

Although this isn’t a formal driver-training course, you’ll have the reassurance of experienced ARD Academy instructors overseeing the session.

Our instructors will be around the course and available to provide guidance, help you assess a particular obstacle or suggest an appropriate route when required.

This gives you the freedom associated with recreational off-road driving while benefiting from a professionally managed environment and knowledgeable support close at hand.

Discover What Your 4×4 Can Do

Modern 4×4 vehicles are remarkably capable, but many owners rarely have the opportunity to experience those capabilities away from the road.

This is your chance to become more familiar with your vehicle in an environment where you can explore features such as low-range gearing, traction systems, hill descent control and differential locks where fitted.

You don’t need to push your vehicle to its limits. For many owners, simply experiencing different gradients, surfaces and terrain can provide a much better understanding of how their 4×4 behaves.

Bring Your Own Vehicle

The experience is open to suitable, roadworthy 4×4 vehicles with appropriate off-road capability.

You drive your own vehicle throughout, allowing you to gain experience with the vehicle you actually use and understand its capabilities, dimensions and characteristics.

Standard vehicles are welcome; extensive off-road modifications are not required.

A Relaxed 4×4 Experience

This isn’t about competition, speed or seeing who can tackle the biggest obstacle.

It’s about enjoying your 4×4, exploring its capabilities and spending time behind the wheel in an environment specifically suited to off-road driving.

Come along, choose your route and enjoy the experience.

Your vehicle. Your route. Your experience.
